Know when to start a new chat instead of dragging the old one along.
1. Watch for the slowdown. If the AI starts repeating itself, forgetting something you said three messages ago, or giving answers that feel a little off from where the conversation started, that's your signal.
2. Understand why it happens. Every conversation has a limited amount of "working memory." The longer a chat runs, the more of that memory gets used up by old messages, and the AI starts losing track of the details that matter most.
3. Start fresh for a new task. Don't just keep scrolling up in the same chat when you switch topics. Open a new one. It gives the AI a clean slate and usually sharper answers.
4. Carry forward only what matters. Before you start the new chat, copy the two or three key facts or decisions from the old one into your first message. You lose the clutter, not the substance.
5. Treat long chats as disposable, not sacred. You're not losing progress by starting over. You're removing noise that was making the AI worse at helping you.
